Irena Petrovska

Hi, my name is Irena. I'm a violist and an interdisciplinary artist that loves working with experimental music, free improvisation and contemporary music.

I finished my Bachelor (2011-2016) with with artistic - pedagogical Profile in Germany at the State University for Music in Saarbrücken (HfM Saar), where I also did my master, Master of Education - Advanced Music Pedagogy (2016-2019) with focus on contemporary music and free improvisation. After my masters I finished  a specialization in jazz and popular music (2019-2021), at the same University. Through all my studies my main Instrument was the viola. As second instrument I played the piano, did couple semesters of jazz singing and E-Bass.

My teaching experience is quite broad. I mostly give individual lessons in violin or viola in every level, but I also have experience working with groups, for example I work with the group of violas and prepare them for the string class that they play in, I've also given chamber lessons working with various instruments and worked with the full string class.

I have thought in many schools in Germany since 2017 including Musikschule Vogel, Musikschule Chun, Musikwerkstaat Zweibrücken, Willi Graf Highschool. During this time I have worked with children starting from 3years, as well as adults and people with disabilities.

As a performer myself I've been part of festivals like: Freistil_Festival - Germany 2021, 2022 and 2024, EXPERIMANCE Festival - Germany 2021 and 2022, eviMus Festival - Germany 2020, Art Generator Festival - North Macedonia 2024 where I have performed as a soloist with my own music and as a part of ensembles and a band. I've also performed as a guest - soloist at the state opera and theater in Saarbrücken 2024-2025.

I'm usually adapting my teaching style to the student I work with. It is important for me that my students have great posture and understanding of music, so that they can easily be able to work independently. 

We can work on any music style they like or learn a bit of everything if they are still searching for their own interests.
