Lauren Shriver
About
Lauren Shriver is a passionate and dedicated music educator with over a decade of experience teaching private piano, voice, and violin lessons. Since 2015, she has helped students of all ages and backgrounds discover the joy of making music, with a special love for working with beginners.
Lauren holds both a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from Capital University (2011) and a master's degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from Westminster Choir College (2014). Lauren has taught lessons at Michelle Tuesday Music School in Gahanna, OH (2015-2023) and Music & Arts in Westerville, OH (2017-present), as well as many private students both in person and online.
Professionally, Lauren has had several operatic roles including Bradamante (Alcina), Third Lady (The Magic Flute), Antonia's Mother (The Tales of Hoffmann) and Hippolyta (A Midsummer Night's Dream). In 2011, Lauren sang alto in the chorus for the televised PBS special, Andrea Bocelli: One Night in Central Park and in 2012, she was part of the chorus in residence for the Spoleto Festival USA, and performed in the North American premiere of the opera Kepler by Philip Glass. In 2013, Lauren was a member of the Philadelphia Opera Chorus and performed in the opera Nabucco.

Teaching Style
My teaching style is relaxed, fun, upbeat and motivating.
Curriculum
For piano students, I typically use the Piano Adventures method and sometimes Alfred. I am open to using other methods as well if the student requires it. For violin students, I usually use Essential Elements and Suzuki.
