About
I am a conservatory-trained musician with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Opera, Choir, and Popular Music Singing from Başkent University Conservatory in Ankara (graduated in 2023). During my studies, I focused on vocal performance, musical theatre, music theory, and solfège.
I have been actively performing on stage for the past 5.5 years, taking part in gigs, festivals, and private events both in Turkey and, more recently, in the Netherlands. My experience spans solo performances as well as band shows, with appearances at venues such as:
-
Holiday Inn Ankara & Sheraton Clubhouse Jazz Bar, Ankara – with Somel Trio Band: January 2021 – October 2022 (Lead & Backing Vocals)
-
Galataport Istanbul Jazz Festival – June 9, 2024 (Lead Vocal)
-
Hard Rock Café, Amsterdam – sponsored by Loving Room Concerts Amsterdam, June 19, 2025 (Lead Vocal)
-
Pride Nieuw West Festival, Amsterdam – July 11, 2025 (Lead & Backing Vocals)
Alongside performing, I have been working as a music educator for nearly 1.5 years, offering private lessons in beginner piano, solfège, and vocal coaching. I have taught students of various ages and skill levels, helping them establish solid musical foundations and grow in confidence. My teaching approach emphasizes technique, musicality, and personalized learning, with the goal of inspiring a genuine love for music in every student.
Previously, while based in Turkey, I taught at:
-
Acoustic Music Arts Academy, Istanbul – private one-on-one vocal coaching and piano lessons
-
AKD Kidz, Zekeriyaköy, Istanbul – music teacher for children aged 2–5 (January 2023 – November 2024)
-
Currently, I am giving private one-on-one lessons in solfège, piano, and vocal coaching in Amsterdam, working with students of all ages. In addition, I have recently started collaborating with Home Music Teachers Amsterdam.
I am passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment for students, and I’m excited to join the Lessonface community.
Teaching Style
My lessons are shaped around each student’s needs, in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
I believe everyone learns differently, and my goal is to help both hobby learners and professionals grow with confidence and joy.
Singing, Vocal Coaching, and Ear Training are usually combined in my sessions, and I offer these under the category of Vocal Coaching.
Curriculum
Teaching Method and Recommended Student Texts:
In voice lessons, I first listen to the student’s ear to understand their level. Then, we start with breathing and body warm-ups, move to vocal exercises, and finally work on songs the student enjoys.
For piano and solfège, I mostly teach beginners, using fun and creative methods—especially with young children. Music theory is taught naturally as we study pieces.
