Curriculum
My lessons are very simple. You present me with any scene or material you would like to work on. It be could for an upcoming audition, a scene from class, or anything that peaks your interest. I will be your scene partner and read with you. We will pick it apart line by line and I'll be providing any advice and direction in guiding you to achieve your best performance. I encourage you to be opinionated and share your interpretation of the character and the scene with me. Even if our views may differ, I am always respectful of your thoughts and perspectives. This is a collaborative effort after all, so we will collectively work together to achieve the ideal performance.
We will usually run a scene as many times as necessary in order to achieve the best take. Each take will have various adjustments that I will give so that each following take will progressively get better and better. We also can play around and try out different versions of a scene so that you can stretch your range and have more options to choose from. The idea is to continually build upon the strengths and choices that you make and to keep chasing that momentum. Other acting exercises such as improvisation and repetition can be implemented. In depth discussions about character development as well as objectives and motivations are always being addressed. Conversations about acting theory and anything to do with the performing arts are always welcomed.
