About

Recognized as one of the most outstanding percussionists of her generation, Michelle has collaborated regularly with the Orchestra of the Teatro de Bellas Artes since 2017, performing in numerous opera and ballet productions under the baton of some of the most renowned conductors in the field. She has also performed with major orchestras across Mexico, including the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México, Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata, Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca del Río, Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, Seven Waves Productions, and Camerata Opus 11, among others.

Michelle has participated in prestigious national and international festivals and programs such as the 15th Santa Catarina Music Festival in Brazil (2020), the Advanced Diploma in Marimba Performance with Verónica Cagigao (2020–2021), the Festival International de Musiques Universitaires in Belfort, France (2022), the Boum Percussion Academy in Stuttgart, Germany (2022), the Coco Live-to-Film Concert, and a North American tour with the National Folkloric Orchestra of Mexico (2024) in collaboration with Disney Concerts.

Teaching Style

My teaching approach focuses on creating dynamic, engaging, and supportive learning environments where students can develop both musical skills and artistic confidence. I tailor each lesson to the individual needs, interests, and goals of the student, allowing the learning process to be both structured and flexible.

Students do not need prior formal musical training to begin. Rhythm and musical understanding can be developed through listening, imitation, and memory-based learning. For those interested in a more comprehensive approach, lessons can also incorporate music theory, rhythmic analysis, and technical development alongside practical playing.

A central element of my teaching philosophy is learning through deep and active listening. By exploring different rhythmic traditions and approaches to percussion, students strengthen their musical awareness, expand their rhythmic vocabulary, and develop a deeper connection with the music they perform.
