Laertis Laertis Liakopoulos

Hello I'm Laertis a guitar/music tutor as well as artist based in London. I have been playing guitar, writing songs, performing live and as a solo act and with the band i lead for 10 years. I also play and record vocals, bongos and bass guitar. Graduated from a 3 year music degree at ICMP where I studied music performance with guitar as the major instrument as well as composing for films & ensembles. I have been teaching since 2015 privately as well as as a leader facilitator with groups at Raw Material, a Cutural & Arts Centre, with people with mental health conditions. Started teaching in my hometown Athens, Greece, I continue for the the past 9 years in London and online around the world. I love sharing my knowledge and I am always learning new skills!

I offer lessons to all levels of musician, from beginner, intermediate or advanced on acoustic or electric guitar. My teaching methodology varies for each student. As a teacher I want to understand your wants, and then help you find your unique voice on the instrument. I appreciate people learn in many different ways. Depending on your wants and needs, I can adapt my teaching style to include as much or as little theory as you wish to learn. I believe as a student of music myself the key to an enjoyable and efficient development is to always combine theory with practical application. Otherwise theory is at risk of just being 'information' which doesn't translate to expression on the instrument.
