Sunel
About
I am a trained musician with a background in singing, music theory, and performance. I studied vocal music with a focus on both classical and musical theater styles, and I have experience in contemporary genres as well. I offer music theory lessons up to Grade 5 (ABRSM/Royal Schools level), and voice training for beginners and developing singers.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is supportive and encouraging, with a strong focus on the basics of singing — including breath control, pitch accuracy, tone production, and posture. I aim to help students build both their technical foundation and their confidence as performers. Whether you’re preparing for exams, auditions, or simply want to explore your voice, I provide a space to grow musically and expressively.
Curriculum
My teaching method combines classical vocal techniques with elements of musical theatre and contemporary voice training. I focus on developing healthy singing habits, confidence, and musicality through:
- Vocal warm-ups and exercises
- Breath control and support
- Pitch accuracy and ear training
- Diction and expression
- Repertoire suited to the student’s voice and interests
- Music theory integration (where applicable)
Lessons are tailored to the student’s level, pace, and personal goals — whether preparing for exams, auditions, or simply singing for joy.
Recommended Programs & Materials
I recommend the following programs based on the student’s needs and style:
- Royal Schools (ABRSM) – for classical and structured theory & voice
- Trinity College London – for flexible vocal exam options including musical theatre
- School of Rock – for contemporary and performance-based learning
Materials and books are selected to match the chosen path and skill level.
