About
I am a professional jazz pianist, composer and music educator. I love teaching jazz and classical music to students of all ages, and I'm passionate about making music knowledge accessible to all. I'm a curious soul who loves exploring the worlds of micro-rhythm, philosophy of music and piano technique. I hold a Bachelor's degree in piano from Spain and a Master's degree in jazz from Germany. In 2019, I won first prize at the Steinway Piano Jazz Competition in Stuttgart and third prize at the Baku International Jazz Competition in Azerbaijan. I have been a member of the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Association for the past eight years and have performed regularly in Australia, Europe, Asia and the Americas over the last few years. Let me share a secret with you: you can play the piano without pain! Yes, it is possible I'm happy to teach complete beginners, intermediate students and professionals.
Teaching Style
My approach:
- I tailor each lesson according to your goals and pace.
- I aim to make every class enjoyable, efficient and encouraging.
- I go deep into the ideas behind sound and movement.
Each session is divided into two or three parts, for example:
1. Technique & Warm-up.
2. Working on specific songs or pieces.
3. Develop improvisation, composition and music theory skills (harmony, arrangement or music production)
Additionally, as a piano technique researcher currently pursuing a PhD in this area, I can address physical issues you may have relating to your piano technique during lessons. Yes, I can help you to reconnect with your instrument through my lessons. You will learn to avoid piano technique approaches that could cause you physical damage in order to play piano. You will also be able to use this decentralized approach not only when playing classical or jazz music, but in any other genre.
