About

I have dedicated half my life to achieving my goal of enriching lives by sharing my knowledge of music with those who have an ear, a hunger, and a passion for the art. Raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, I began piano lessons at the age of nine and never stopped. After my first year in business school, I made the decision to fully devote myself to music. Taking a leap of faith, I moved to America to gain in-depth knowledge in piano performance and pedagogy.

After studying piano performance for two years at Valencia College, I earned admission to Stetson University on a music scholarship to continue my development and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and an outside field in Business. Stetson, a private college located in Deland, Florida, was a transformative experience for me. The university’s rigorous music program, along with the support and challenge from my lecturers and classmates, pushed me to grow as both a musician and an individual.

I participated in both solo piano and chamber music performances at Stetson Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. In June 2018, I attended the University of Florida International Piano Festival held in Orlando, FL. During my time at Stetson University, I began my journey as a music educator by providing piano lessons to young, enthusiastic musicians, which helped me cultivate my passion for teaching. After graduating, I established my own music studio in 2019, specializing in piano performance, music theory, and technique.

In addition, I had the opportunity to partner with several music institutions, including B Amazing Music in Orlando, FL, from 2020 to 2023. Through this partnership, I worked to provide high-quality, personalized piano instruction to children, allowing them to learn and grow musically in the comfort and convenience of their own homes. This experience not only deepened my commitment to accessible music education but also allowed me to connect with families and tailor lessons to meet each child’s individual needs and learning style.

Teaching Style

I have been teaching for eight years, which has given me a strong understanding of which teaching methods are most effective. My teaching style is engaging, student-centered, and designed to make learning both effective and enjoyable. I believe that students learn best when they’re having fun, so I regularly incorporate interactive games and creative activities into my lessons. This not only helps reinforce musical concepts but also keeps students motivated and excited to learn. I aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where each student feels supported and confident in their musical growth.
