About
Marissol Mwaba is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and vocal coach with more than 10 years of professional career, and the founder of Mwaba Canto Expressão (MwCE). Established in 2018, her school is dedicated to vocal, musical, and artistic development, serving both professional artists and music enthusiasts.
With a career that spans national and international stages, Marissol has performed across Brazil, France, Portugal, Austria, and beyond. She is a TEDxTalks speaker, author of the book A Viagem de Nyota (2023), and recipient of the Medalha e Diploma de Mérito Virgílio Várzea (2023) and the Aldir Blanc Cultural Trajectory Award (2020). Of Congolese heritage, she speaks five languages and combines her artistic work with a unique academic background, having studied astrophysics and conducted research at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris.
Her artistic journey includes notable releases such as the EP NDEKE (2022), the single Frase Única with Chico César and Zé Manoel (2023), and the 2024 singles Lua Ferida and Adiref Aul — the latter blending music, belly dance, and astrophysics in a cross-cultural project filmed between Florianópolis and Paris. She has also been part of Grammy-nominated and award-winning projects, including singing on Emicida’s Amarelo, winner of the Latin Grammy for Best Rock or Alternative Album in Portuguese (2020), and has collaborated with prominent Brazilian and international artists.
