About
I'm a mum with a passion for learning, teaching, and encouraging others to do the same! I have taught for 22 years in urban public schools, elite private school and tutoring academies, and my own homeschool. Currently, I develop my own curriculum and teach crochet and writing classes at a non-profit learning community alongside other dedicated educators. My irl classes are waitlisted and reviews are available upon request!
Specialties: Beginner-Intermediate Crochet (all ages), Advanced Writing (4-7th grade)
Crochet: I've been crocheting since I was a little girl, learning from my grandmother. Over the years, I've made scarves, blankets, sweaters, beanies, amigurumi toys, and home decor items. I enjoy teaching beginning crochet because it is rewarding to see my students work past frustration and make all sorts of lovely creations. Click on the profile photos to see examples of my work.
Writing: 17 years ago, I learned how to effectively teach writing from a mentor who designed a curriculum around literary classics. Every student who finished my course improved their writing grade by at least one mark. More importantly, they gained skills and developed confidence in a safe and fun environment!
