About

I’m Mark Meitine, a Canadian jazz pianist, composer, and educator with over 20 years of experience. As co-founder of MR Quartet, I’ve performed original music and reinterpretations across Ontario, with appearances on JazzFM91, CBC Music, and stages like The Rex and the Jazz Room. Trained at the Moscow College of Improvisational Music under composer Yuri Markin, my work blends classical structure with jazz improvisation. I’ve taught piano, theory, and ensemble playing to students of all levels, and continue to contribute to Canada’s jazz scene as a performer, mentor, and member of SOCAN and the Canadian Arts Council.
