Edmar Alves Oliveira Jr
About
I'm a passionate and experienced piano instructor with over a decade of training. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Redlands, where I developed a strong foundation in classical music. I'm also well-versed in a wide range of other styles, including jazz, bossa nova, soul, and more.
In addition to my teaching, I'm an active and international musician, recording artist, and composer/producer. I bring this real-world experience to every lesson, offering practical insights and a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to be a musician today.
Teaching Style
My goal is to make learning music a rewarding and enjoyable experience for every student. With extensive experience teaching piano to students of all ages and skill levels—from young children to adults—I've developed a teaching style that is flexible, patient, and centered around you.
I believe that music education should be as unique as the student. That's why my lessons are never one-size-fits-all. We'll work together to set goals and create a personalized plan that fits your interests and needs. Whether you want to master the fundamentals, learn your favorite songs, or explore advanced topics like music theory, improvisation, and composition, I am here to help.
In my lessons, I create a supportive and encouraging environment where you can feel comfortable taking risks and expressing yourself creatively. I'm also experienced in working with neurodivergent students, and I adapt my methods to ensure every student feels successful.
I'm excited to help you start your musical journey and discover the joy of playing piano!
