About

With over 35 years of professional experience as a vocalist, guitarist, and performer, I bring both a passion for music and a wealth of knowledge to every lesson. For a decade, I was a member of a successful band named The Glorious Sons, opening three times for the Rolling Stones and earning two Juno Awards along the way. Music has taken me across stages big and small, and now I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with students of all levels.

I offer lessons in vocals, guitar, piano, and songwriting, tailored to your goals and interests. Whether you’re a beginner picking up your first instrument, a hobbyist looking to build confidence, or an aspiring professional preparing for the stage, my lessons are designed to help you grow. Together we’ll focus on developing solid technique, building your creative expression, and finding your unique sound.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I believe in meeting students where they are and guiding them step by step toward their musical goals. Beyond technique, I also bring the perspective of a seasoned performer-helping you understand not just how to play, but how to connect with your music and your audience.

Whether you’re ready to improve your vocal range, sharpen your guitar or piano skills, or bring your own songs to life, I’d love to help you on your musical journey.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is supportive, flexible, and tailored to each student’s unique goals. With over 35 years of professional experience, I understand that every musician learns differently. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or preparing for the stage, I adapt lessons to meet you where you are.

I believe in creating a positive, encouraging space where students feel free to explore their creativity and build confidence. Lessons focus not only on technical skill - like proper technique, tone, and timing - but also on expression and performance, so you can truly connect with your music.

I enjoy working with beginners, hobbyists, and aspiring professionals alike. My approach combines practical exercises with real-world tips from decades of performing, recording, and songwriting. Together, we’ll set clear goals, celebrate progress, and keep the process fun and inspiring.

Above all, I want students to leave every lesson feeling motivated, more confident, and excited to grow as musicians.

Curriculum

My teaching methods blend structured learning with creative exploration. I draw from decades of professional performance, recording, and songwriting to give students both solid fundamentals and practical, real-world skills.

  • Vocal Lessons – Focus on breath control, pitch, tone, and expression. We’ll use warm-ups, range-building exercises, and performance practice to strengthen your voice and boost confidence.

  • Guitar Lessons – Cover technique, chords, strumming, and improvisation. Lessons also explore style development and stage presence, whether on acoustic or electric guitar.

  • Piano Lessons – Build a foundation in scales, chords, and rhythm. Lessons include ear training, and applying piano skills to songwriting.

  • Songwriting Coaching – Learn how to craft compelling lyrics, melodies, and arrangements. I guide students in finding their own voice while sharing proven techniques I’ve used throughout my career.

Each lesson is customized to the student’s level and goals. I combine demonstrations, guided practice, and feedback, making sure you understand why as well as how. I also encourage students to record their progress, so they can track improvement over time.

Above all, my methods are about building confidence, creativity, and joy in music -while giving you the tools you need to keep growing beyond the lesson.
