Teaching Style

My mission is to empower students and give them the tools they need to meet their specific musical and artistic aspirations. I believe in a goal-based approach to teaching that emphasizes meeting students where they are and setting strategic goals to progress toward a set of goals.

My teaching draws upon years of experience across many genres as a singer as well as my deep love and understanding of the voice from a physiological perspective. I employ a science-informed style of teaching that emphasizes freeing the voice from extraneous constraints and developing balanced and functional vocal technique. From there, I work with students to fine-tune their technique to meet the demands of their given genre and achieve their ideal sound.

Curriculum

I also provide one-on-one tutoring in the areas of voice pedagogy, voice science, acoustics, and anatomy and physiology of the voice. These sessions can be scheduled as a normal voice lesson.
