About
I am Kris, a professional pianist, composer, and educator with over 10 years of teaching experience. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Jazz Piano and Composition from Anton Bruckner University in Austria. My background includes classical training at the Conservatory of Music in Slovenia and extensive work as a performer and composer in jazz, pop, classical, and world music. I currently teach at Music School Base, the largest private music school in Slovenia, and have guided students from complete beginners to advanced performers.
Teaching Style
My lessons are practical, creative, and adapted to each student’s needs. I combine clear explanations with demonstration at the piano, encouraging students to develop not only technique and theory but also creativity and expression. I create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, explore different styles, and enjoy the process of learning music.
Curriculum
For beginners, I focus on building strong foundations in technique, rhythm, and reading, always connecting exercises to real pieces of music. For intermediate and advanced students, I emphasize improvisation, harmony, and stylistic versatility - from classical and pop to jazz and world rhythms. I also integrate ear training, composition, and music production for those who want to expand their creative skills. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s level, goals, and personal interests, ensuring steady progress and a rewarding learning experience.
