Danny Kerner
About
I started playing guitar at 11, and started getting gigs/recording music at 15. Since then, I've played with a variety of bands and musicians including well-known artists such as John Baggott (Robert Plant, Massive Attack, Portishead), Rob Mazurek (Exploding Star Orchestra, Chicago Underground, Pharoah Sanders), Little Ed (Chicago Blues star), Smilin' Bobby (Chicago Blues elder), Mary Lane (Chicago Blues singer), Butch Trucks (drummer of the Allman Brothers Band), Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars), Colonel Bruce Hampton, Kofi Burbridge (Tedeschi Trucks Band), and more.
In addition to that, I've studied guitar with Dave Manley (Herbie Hancock, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu), Mike Stern (Miles Davis, Brecker Bros, Jaco Pastorius), Tim Miller (Mick Goodrick, Randy Brecker, George Garzone), Norm Zocher (Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Moses, Esperanza Spalding) and many other great players.
I offer guitar lessons for all ages and skill levels. My approach is based on the goals of each individual student, and I do my best to use what I've learned over the years to create meaningful lessons for my students.
Teaching Style
I've taught students of many different ages and backgrounds, and I adjust my method as needed to help make the information easier to absorb.
I've learned from great guitarists including Dave Manley, Mike Stern, Tim Miller, Norm Zocher, Rick Peckham, David Gilmore, and many others. I do my best to carry forward what I've learned from those masters to my students.

May 2014 to June 2014
I organized a second music festival as a follow-up to the other one in a series of festivals called "Cherry Fields". This event was put together by myself and The Rio Grande Theatre and took place on June 1, 2014 at the theater. The start date is May of 2014 because planning for the event started a month before the staging, as with the preceding festival. There were 3 bands (again including my own band) who performed at this festival, along with 1 solo act who performed during the transitions between sets. All promotion for this event was done by myself and some of the members of the performing bands. About 100 people were at the show, and the event was a success.

March 2013 to April 2013
I organized a free music festival which took place on April 27, 2013. The start date is March of 2013 because planning for the event started one month before the staging of the event. There were 3 bands that played at the festival (including my own) and it was held in my home at the time in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This was a private event and was promoted solely by myself and a few of my friends who I recruited to help me. There were about 50 people who attended, and the event was a success.
