About

Welcome to my creative space! My name is Nicolas and I’m here to help you fall in love with making music. Whether you want to strum your first chords on the guitar, lay down a bass groove, or produce your own tracks from scratch, my goal is to make every lesson the best part of your week!

I believe music should be stress-free and inspiring. I’ve been teaching for over 10 years, and my favorite thing is seeing my students gain the confidence to play the songs they love.

Why study with me? I’ve had a wild musical journey! I studied Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music, performed in the Broadway pit of Hamilton, and I tour the world with my band Salt Cathedral. I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with legends like Lee "Scratch" Perry and Jojo Mayer, and I want to bring all those "real world" secrets directly to you.

New Student Special:

  • Free 15-minute trial lesson! Let’s meet, talk about your goals, and see if we’re a good fit.

What we can work on:

  • Guitar (Electric & Acoustic): From your first scale to advanced improvisation.

  • Bass: Building a solid foundation and finding your groove.

  • Production & Composition: Let’s turn your ideas into professional-sounding records.

I am very relaxed, easy to talk to, and I love to laugh. My studio is a judgment-free zone where we celebrate every small win.

I offer lessons in both English and Spanish. Let’s start this journey together—I can’t wait to meet you!

Teaching Style

I tailor every lesson to your specific goals. Want to learn a specific song? We’ll do it. Want to understand the theory behind the music? I’ll break it down into simple, digestible steps. My 10+ years of experience have taught me that everyone learns differently, so I’m always patient, flexible, and encouraging.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized. I don’t believe in a 'one size fits all' approach. Whether we are analyzing a Jazz standard, learning a Broadway tune, or building a beat in Ableton, I make sure we go at your pace. I love to laugh and keep the environment light—learning music should never feel like a chore!

Curriculum

Drawing from my Berklee background and my experience as a recording artist, I use a mix of traditional methods and modern technology. We can use software like Ableton or Logic for production, or focus on classic fingerstyle and technique for guitar and bass. Most importantly, we play music that you actually enjoy.

I combine the rigorous foundations I learned at Berklee (theory, technique, ear training) with the practical skills of a touring musician.

  • For Guitar/Bass: We’ll use lead sheets and TABs to get you playing songs immediately.

  • For Composition/Production: We’ll dive into your DAW of choice and work on your original tracks. Everything is tailored to the music you love.
