About
I’m a touring, radio-charted jazz saxophonist, composer, and producer who loves helping people enjoy playing music more. I work professionally on stage and in the studio, and I bring that real-world experience into every lesson.
I teach students of all ages and levels — from beginners figuring out their first notes to more advanced players looking to improve their tone, improvisation, and musical expression. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether that’s building confidence, preparing for performances, or learning how to move an audience with a solo.
Along with saxophone instruction, I also help students explore recording and basic music production. If you’re interested in recording your sax, creating your own tracks, or understanding how music comes together in a studio, we can absolutely work on that too.
My approach is relaxed, supportive, and practical. I believe learning music should feel inspiring and fun, while still giving you clear tools to grow and improve. The goal is always to help you sound like you — and enjoy the process along the way.

Teaching Style
My teaching approach is rooted in the way I was trained at Berklee College of Music, with a strong emphasis on tone and sound as the foundation of expressive playing. I believe tone is the most direct way to connect with an audience — especially on an instrument like the saxophone, which functions much like a voice. In lessons, I like to dive deeply into the fundamentals that shape a player’s sound, including breath work and support, tone development, the overtone series, embouchure, and mouthpiece and reed setup. We get into the details of what’s actually happening physically and musically, and how those elements work together to create a sound that’s unique to each player. My goal is to help students understand and develop their individual voice on the instrument, and to elevate that sound as much as possible so it becomes a source of confidence, expression, and genuine connection with an audience.
Curriculum
My teaching method is fundamentals-based and highly individualized. I emphasize tone development, breath support, embouchure, and sound production as the foundation of expressive playing. Lessons are adapted to each student’s level and goals, combining technical exercises, repertoire, listening, and real-world application. Method books are used as guides, alongside custom exercises, transcriptions, and practical performance-based work.
-
28 Etudes – control, technique, and musical phrasing
-
Charlie Parker Omnibook – jazz language and phrasing (advanced students)
-
Effortless Mastery – creative mindset and performance psychology
-
The Science of Breath – breath awareness, control, and body–mind connection
This is the basis of my fundamental instruction but I will tailor books and methods based on the student's goals and also inlcude some practical "play-along" tracks for practice and improvisation.
