About
I work with pre-professional and professional singers, musicians, and performers who want to develop a reliable, expressive voice that holds up in real performance environments. My approach balances strong technical foundations with musical and stylistic clarity, helping singers build stamina, consistency, and confidence under pressure.
I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from California State University, Fullerton, and am a member of Actors’ Equity Association. Over the past 10+ years, my work as a performer and vocal coach has taken me to more than 60 countries, including performing and coaching for Disney, Universal, Broadway-style national tours, and serving as a music director and vocal coach for organizations such as RWS Global, Holland America Line, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
Lessons are structured, focused, and goal-driven, designed for singers preparing for auditions, contracts, touring work, cruise entertainment, or ongoing live performance careers. I enjoy working with performers who are committed to consistent training and are interested in developing both technical reliability and artistic individuality so their voice can support long-term, sustainable work.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is supportive, collaborative, and rooted in helping singers reconnect with the joy of singing while building a voice that is reliable and sustainable. We sing because it brings us joy, and I believe strong technique should support that joy rather than replace it. Having spent years performing in demanding live entertainment environments, I understand how easy it can be to lose that sense of freedom when pressure, fatigue, or expectations take over.
I approach each singer with empathy and curiosity, creating a space where they can feel safe exploring their voice, their sound, and their individuality. Lessons are focused and intentional, but always grounded in encouragement and trust. My goal is to help singers develop consistency, stamina, and confidence — including the ability to sustain eight shows a week — while rediscovering the pleasure, connection, and emotional truth that first drew them to singing.
Curriculum
My teaching method centers on developing a voice that feels both technically secure and emotionally alive. Sessions combine functional vocal technique, healthy coordination, and applied work through repertoire, always tailored to the individual singer. Rather than forcing voices into a predetermined sound, I focus on supporting what is already uniquely present, helping singers access freedom, color, and expressiveness without strain.
I place particular emphasis on efficiency, endurance, and recovery for singers working demanding schedules such as eight shows a week, long rehearsal processes, or extended contracts. Just as importantly, I help singers reconnect technique to storytelling and emotional expression, so singing remains joyful, grounded, and personal rather than mechanical.
Recommended materials are practical and individualized, often including repertoire-specific scores, recordings, customized exercises, and personal practice notes. My goal is for singers to leave each lesson feeling clearer, more confident, and more connected to their voice — equipped with tools that support both long-term vocal health and the joy of performing.
