About

Hey there!

I have been teaching, performing & producing music for 16 years.
I am currently the lead-singer & guitarist for a South-African Theatrical Rock-Band called Dukes of Note that tours locally & performs at various venues & festivals around the country.
As an actively performing musician, I lead by example and with experience.
As a teacher, I pride myself on making lessons fun with my gamified learning approach - appropriate for all ages although kids love it!

I also teach drawing & sketching and help students build their creative skills through character-design and world-building.

Looking forward to meeting you & working on your creative & musical skills!

Teaching Style

My teaching style is to adapt to each student's age, playing level & musical interests.
I do however offer a fun gamified learning program with avatars, experience, skill-tracking & challenges that will help students build their knowledge across chords, scales, arpeggios, theory, songs & performance.
Advanced students will also be able to explore songwriting & music production with me.

I have students of all ages & all love their lessons with me equally as much.

Curriculum

My teaching method involves a more exploration, activity-based approach with exercises and practice material tailored to each individual student's journey.

Some students will be working on their first chords & rhythm while other's may be chipping away at the next 8 bars of a Polyphia piece.

Each student's practice resource folder will grow and be tailored to their unique learning journey & their unique interests whether it be for guitar, singing or art.

Credentials & Affiliations

I have been teaching for 16 years and studied Guitar & Business at the Campus of Performing Arts in Cape Town, South Africa. With tuition fees weighing on my family I decided to end my studies early and begin working in the music industry. I started teaching at The School of Rock for 3 years then decided I would much rather work privately and manage my own school.
Since leaving School of Rock I have built up my own Guitar School called Guitarcadia which incorporates gamification into the learning process to help reward students for their hard work and progress. I currently have a full roster of local students and collaborate with other private schools to deliver a fun music learning experience. I am now looking to expand further to a global audience through Lessonface.
