About

I began studying the oboe 19 years ago and went on to earn a minor degree in Music Performance at the University of Illinois Springfield on a full music scholarship. My classical training gave me a strong foundation in technique, tone production, music reading, and disciplined practice habits—skills I now focus on passing along to beginners in a clear, encouraging way. This added on to my skillset as I began playing the piano and reading music at the age of 7.

In 2022, I concluded teaching oboe lessons to high school students after about 4 years. I did my teaching through Southern Illinois University. These lessons mostly included refining college audition pieces, scale work, and and preparation for IMEA auditions, a prestigious association representing the top musicians in the state of IL. Since moving back to TN in 2023, I've been teaching oboe lessons to beginners here and there, but I believe I am needing more exposure. I believe with Lessonface, I'll be able to scale my business and expand to a larger clientele.

I have also served as a judge in solo and ensemble competitions since I graduated high school in 2013. Some of these competitions are specifically concentrated on piano excerpts, with others being focused on concert instruments across the spectrum.

Today, I’m still actively making music as a producer, which allows me to bring a modern, practical approach to lessons. My most recent instrumental album is called "I'm Just a Girl" which highlights the different production styles, including live instrument sounds. Being a producer for multiple Grammy winning and plaquing artists, I believe I have the ability to introduce students to classical music in a way that is relative to the modern music they listen to now. I help students understand not just how to play, but how music works, how to practice efficiently, and how to build confidence quickly.

Teaching Style

As a younger instructor who is actively making music today, I connect easily with students and keep lessons engaging so they stay motivated and confident.

I focus on helping students learn naturally—lessons feel enjoyable and lively, but real progress is always happening. Technique, music reading, and fundamentals are introduced in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming or rigid. Students often learn without realizing they’re learning because concepts are woven into music they enjoy and achievable goals.

I adapt each lesson to the student’s personality and learning style, keeping things upbeat while still building strong habits and measurable improvement. My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling accomplished, excited, and eager to practice.
