About

Marek Orszulik is a classical guitarist and teacher based in Edmonton, AB. He has an MMus degree in guitar performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and over twenty years teaching experience with students of all ages and abilities. He currently operates and teaches at the Music Grove in Edmonton, AB. As a performer, he has given solo and chamber concerts in North America and Europe, including several world premiere performances of major works by today's leading composers. His recent album, Fantazja, includes music by Polish composers spanning the Renaissance to the present day. In addition to his busy teaching and performing schedule, he is also Editorial Director of MusiCurate, sharing stories and advice from the world's leading guitarists.

Teaching Style

Students will cover essential techniques of classical guitar to ensure they have the necessary tools for embarking on the repertoire. Teaching material is chosen from my extensive library according to each student's age and level. Recommended books will be advised in the lessons. An understanding of theory and harmony will be covered as appropriate for each learning stage.
