Fabienne
About
Fabienne Jean, known artistically as FABMVSIC, is a Haitian American violinist, composer, arranger, and improviser who is redefining what the violin can express in today’s music. She blends the soul of jazz, the emotional depth of R&B, the rhythm of hip hop, and the expansiveness of world music to create a sound that is rich, expressive, and unmistakably her own, fluid across genres.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Fabienne lives and creates between New York City and Boston. She is making waves as both a solo artist and as a founding member of the Nebulous String Quartet, a boundary-pushing ensemble known for integrating improvisation, electronics, and experimentation. Together, they have transformed the traditional string quartet format into a platform for storytelling, innovation, and genre-defying collaboration.
Through FABMVSIC, Fabienne channels deep musicality and spiritual intensity into every performance. Her solos transcend technical displays and evolve into emotional narratives. Using tools like Ableton Live, electronic pedals, and live production techniques, she builds layered, immersive soundscapes that invite listeners into something intimate and transformative.
She has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Dizzy’s Jazz Club at Lincoln Center, Celebrity Series of Boston, and the Berklee Performance Center.
Teaching Style
Students can expect engaging, personalized lessons that strike a balance between strong technical foundations and creativity and improvisation.
We work on tone, technique, rhythm, ear training, and repertoire, while also exploring improvisation, musical storytelling, and creative expression.
My teaching style is supportive, patient, and flexible, encouraging curiosity and experimentation while building confidence, consistency, and a deep connection to the instrument.
