Natalia Gonçalves Novais de Andrade
About
Hi! I’m Natalia Gonçalves, a Brazilian guitarist, music teacher, and sheet music editor.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and a Technical Degree in Classical Guitar, with a strong focus on performance, arrangement, and pedagogy. During my musical formation at UFRN, I was mentored by award-winning and internationally recognized guitar professors Eugênio Lima and João Raone, whose guidance deeply shaped my technical foundation, musical interpretation, and artistic discipline. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (2021–2025), supporting undergraduate students in structured learning environments and assisting in course development and instruction.
As a performer, I am an active classical and Brazilian popular guitar player. I am a member of the Classical Guitar Orchestra at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, performing ensemble repertoire that requires precision, listening skills, and refined technique. In 2025, I performed seven-string guitar at the international event Mulheres na Roda de Samba, contributing to a program celebrating women in Brazilian samba. I have also participated in the project A Voz Mulher and served as musical director and guitarist for the tribute concert Em Nome de Gal, honoring the renowned Brazilian singer Gal Costa. Additionally, I regularly accompany Brazilian singers on guitar in live performances, developing strong skills in musical collaboration, arrangement, and stylistic versatility.
As a teacher, I have experience giving individual guitar lessons to students of different ages and skill levels, both online and in person. My teaching practice focuses on technical refinement, clarity, and sound quality, as well as Brazilian rhythmic patterns and samba harmony. I emphasize expressive interpretation, rhythmic precision, and structured progression, adapting lessons to each student’s goals and learning style.
Whether you’re a beginner who loves Brazilian music or an intermediate guitarist looking to finally play bossa nova and brazilian rhythms with the correct feel, I’d love to help you build confidence and enjoy the process.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is flexible and student-centered. I adapt each lesson to your goals, level, and pace, so you can learn Brazilian guitar in a clear, enjoyable, and structured way.
