About
I am a trained Hindustani vocal music teacher with a strong academic background and hands-on teaching and performance experience. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Music from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur (2023–2026). Alongside my degree, I completed long-term professional training from Prayag Sangeet Samiti between 2019 and 2025, which strengthened my foundation in Hindustani classical music, raga development, voice culture, and tala.
I have over four years of teaching experience in both institutional and independent settings. I taught music for one year (2023) at RSM Senior Secondary School, where I worked with school-level students and helped prepare them for performances. I have also taught at Arts and Music Hub Kudaghat for one year (2023), as well as at Swar Soul of Music Geetvatika. In addition, I trained young children at Kidzee for stage programs and cultural events, focusing on confidence-building and musical expression.
Along with offline teaching in Kudaghat, Gorakhpur, I actively teach online Hindustani classical music to students from different states using Zoom and Google Meet. Several of my students have shown excellent progress, and three of them are currently performing as lead singers in the Swar Band, which reflects the effectiveness of my training approach. I specialize in teaching classical and semi-classical music, guiding students in voice training, riyaz techniques, performance skills, and musical understanding, while adapting lessons to each student’s level and goals.
From seven year i am running my own classes in Gorakhpur as hindustani classical music teacher and instument also harmonium and from 6 years i performing in different bands as a main singer.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is structured, patient, and encouraging, while remaining flexible to each student’s goals and learning pace. I believe that strong fundamentals are the foundation of beautiful music, so my lessons focus on:
Voice culture and proper breathing techniques
Sur (pitch) and laya (rhythm) clarity
Riyaaz methods suitable for the student’s level
Understanding ragas step-by-step
Developing musical expression and confidence
For beginners, I emphasize building a solid base in swar, alankar, and basic compositions. For intermediate and advanced students, lessons include detailed raga development, bandish interpretation, improvisation, and stylistic refinement.
I create a supportive and motivating learning environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves musically. Whether a student is learning for personal enjoyment, cultural connection, or performance goals, I adapt my lessons to help them grow steadily and confidently.
Curriculum
My teaching method is systematic, patient, and student-centered. I focus on building strong fundamentals while helping students develop confidence and musical expression.
Each lesson is structured according to the student’s level and goals, with emphasis on:
Voice culture, breathing, and tonal clarity
Swar sadhana and sur–laya control
Step-by-step understanding of ragas
Proper riyaaz techniques and practice routines
Musical expression, layakari, and presentation
For beginners, I concentrate on creating a solid foundation and correct habits from the start. For intermediate and advanced students, lessons include detailed raga elaboration, bandish development, and improvisation techniques. I maintain a calm, encouraging environment so students feel motivated and comfortable progressing at their own pace.
