Alex Omwenga is a dynamic and versatile guitarist from Kenya with a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Kenyatta University. As a core member of the live band We Pocket, he brings energy and artistry across a wide range of genres. With over four years of experience teaching guitar to individuals and small groups of all ages, Omwenga has built a reputation for making learning both accessible and inspiring. Beyond teaching, he is an accomplished session guitarist, collaborating with recording artists to craft distinctive sounds and deliver high-quality tracks. Teaching Style

My guitar teaching style is centered on empowering students to truly understand how to learn the guitar for themselves. I begin by identifying each learner’s personal motivation—whether it’s mastering a favorite song, building technical skill, or expressing creativity—so that every session is tailored to their most valued goals. Along the way, I highlight the essential knowledge and techniques that no guitarist can afford to overlook, ensuring a strong foundation. Ultimately, my aim is to guide students toward independence in their musical journey, helping them develop not only skill but also a unique identity in their playing that shines beyond our lessons.
