Chad Roundy

Chad has been teaching private guitar lessons for 7 years and performing performing for 12. Chad received his Bachelor's in Music Degree with an emphasis in guitar performance in 2023 from Utah Tech University, studying Jazz and solo acoustic guitar. He received the student of the semester award for the music department in the spring of 2023. 

Chad's is experienced in performing various genres of music, including orchestra and pit musical theater work with the Southwest Symphony (2019-current), pit orchestra work for Tuacahn Center of the Arts (2019-current), community theater pit orchestras (2017-2023) and more. 

While being a member in pit orchestras, Chad also has a robust background in the alternative/emo scene. He played guitar for the band NVM, going on tour and included on various recordings (2025 spring tour supporting act for SlowJoy) (2025 Fall tour supporting act for Slow Crush) (2025 NVM Single release Cupid) (2026 NVM EP Postictal)

Combo jazz takes up large percentage in chad's live performance schedule. He performs consistently with the St. George Jazz All Stars (2019-present), playing at private events, community events, swing dances, and more. Chad was the audio engineer and guitarists for the app MusicWalk, a location-based app that features jazz music in the southern Utah area. Chad also runs a combo jazz group The Real Look, performing in the southern Utah area. 

I specialize in teaching required skills to be a "hired gun" in the live performance industry, including sight reading, jazz comping, solo comping, proper tone development, proper pre-performance warm-ups, and much more!
 

I tailor lessons to fit the goals of my students. If a student wants to learn how to survive as a metal rhythm guitar player, our focus won't be classical music. My goal is to help students reach their goals in the most efficient way possible. 
 

I accept students 11+ with no minimum requirement for experience.
