About
Music has been a central part of my life through teaching, composing, and creative exploration.
I am a music teacher specializing in Setar, Soprano Recorder, and Music Theory, with a background in both Iranian and Western classical traditions. I studied Setar performance in the Bachelor of Iranian Music Performance at the Art University of Tehran from 2014 to 2018, where I trained with Sharif Lotfi, Hossein Mehrani, and Ehsan Emami, developing a deep understanding of Persian classical music and its modal systems.
I began teaching music in 2015 after completing children’s music education training at Adamak Institute in 2014. From 2015 to 2022, I taught early childhood music (ages 3–10) using the Orff approach, alongside Setar lessons for both children and adults at Golahang Music School in Tehran.
Alongside teaching, I have composed music for theatre and film projects, including productions presented at the Tehran-Mobarak International Puppet Theater Festival such as Blondredhead (2018, Khorshidi Hall) and Anna, the Girl Who Sleeps with Open Eyes (2020, Entezami Teatre Hall). I have also worked on music composition and sound design for several short films between 2017 and 2023. My recent work also explores live electronic performance using synthesizers and Ableton Live, including a performance in November 2025. These experiences have shaped my understanding of music not only as technique, but also as expression, atmosphere, and storytelling through sound.
From 2023 to 2026, I also taught Persian language to non-native speakers through a music-based approach, combining singing, Persian poetry, and cultural context.
Today, I continue teaching with a focus on clarity, patience, and building meaningful connections with each student. As a native Persian (Farsi) speaker, I feel most at home teaching in Persian, but I also comfortably teach in English and welcome students from different backgrounds.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is warm, clear, and personalized. I believe students learn best when lessons are supportive, structured, and aligned with their individual goals.
In Setar lessons, we focus on posture, technique, repertoire, and ornamentation, while gradually developing an understanding of Persian classical music through guided listening and structured exercises.
In Soprano Recorder, lessons develop tone, fingering, rhythm, articulation, breath control, and musical expression, with Baroque repertoire as an important foundation. I work with both children and adults, from beginner to intermediate levels.
In Music Theory, I connect concepts directly to sound and practice. Using real musical examples, students explore rhythm, melody, scales, modes, and ear training in a practical and engaging way.
I value consistency, patience, and gradual progress. My goal is to create a focused and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated and confident in their musical development.
