About

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island in 2024 with a Bachelor's in Music Education. I earned a K-12 Music Teaching Certification in Rhode Island in May of 2024. My primary instrument is violin and I performed with the University of Rhode Island Symphony Orchestra from 2021-2024 as well as with several chamber ensembles.

After my student teaching, I began working for a non-profit music school called Community String Project in Bristol, Rhode Island. For the past 2 years, I have taught the after-school youth string program as well as evening classes for adult beginners and intermediate players on violin, viola, cello, and bass. I have taught students as young as 8 and many who are seniors age 60+. For this program I also occasionally substitute teach our adult classical guitar classes.

Most recently I have conducted the Community String Project's Youth and Adult concerts in January of 2026. I have also conducted two previous concerts in May and January of 2025. I performed as concertmaster with the Community String Project Orchestra in May of 2025. I also lead a chamber ensemble for two Christmas concerts at Linden Place in Bristol, Rhode Island in December of 2025 and will be leading a chamber group for upcoming performances at similar venues in the Bristol county area of Rhode Island throughout the summer.

Teaching Style

I view myself as a facilitator who will show you how to practice and break maneuvering on your instrument down into small steps as well as help you gain an understanding of the physics involved. Lessons with me will mostly be broken into short sections starting with scales and technique before beginning repertoire. Though I am comfortable working with you in other ways. I also try to help my students understand the usefulness of music theory to understand and interpret the music they are playing.

Curriculum

In my adult and youth classes I use the Essential Elements for Strings Books 1-3 and Suzuki books. We can also use a variety of learning materials that I supply, or books that you already own.
