Aidan Walsh
About
Hi, I'm Aidan. I am a dedicated and passionate music teacher and musician from Long Island, NY. I have been teaching private lessons to a wide variety of ages, instruments, and levels for two years. I found my love for music when I started playing the trumpet in fourth grade. I graduated from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in January of 2024 with a Bachelors in Music Education with honors. I am NY state certified to teach K-12 Music Education and I specialize in teaching band instruments such as trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, and tuba. My approach to teaching focuses on fostering a love for music and the development of the fundamental skills of music making.
Teaching Style
I strive to make all my lessons fun but challenging for each student so they can get the most out of it. I focus on building strong fundamentals of reading music, reading rhythms and instrument fundamentals.
Curriculum
For all beginner band instruments I like to use the Essential Elements series but I am open to using other method books.
For advanced trumpet I use the Arbans book, Clarke, and Snedecor etudes.
