About

Hello! My name is Nicole, and I am a violinist, music educator, and certified elementary and special education teacher.

I earned a bachelor's degree in Music Media with a concentration in violin from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2020. I have been playing both piano and violin for over 20 years now and have experience both teaching and performing. I was a member of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Orchestra for four years (2016-2020). During this time I performed at Angelle Hall on numerous occasions. Aside from this, I was a member of a chamber ensemble and have performed at weddings and funerals. In addition, I have over five years of experience teaching both piano and violin to children of varying ages and skill levels.

I am also a certified elementary and special education teacher with a Master’s degree in Special Education. This unique combination of music training and educational experience allows me to create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s individual learning style.

My lessons focus on building a strong musical foundation while helping students develop confidence and a lifelong love of music. Whether your child is a complete beginner or has previous experience, I provide patient, personalized instruction in a positive and supportive environment.

Students will learn:
• Proper instrument technique and posture
• Note reading and music theory fundamentals
• Rhythm, ear training, and musicianship
• Effective practice habits
• Musical expression and performance skills

I especially enjoy working with young learners and believe that music lessons should be both educational and enjoyable. My goal is to help every student feel successful while progressing at a pace that meets their individual needs.

I look forward to helping your child grow as a musician and discover the joy of making music!

Teaching Style

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor lessons to each student’s age, personality, learning style, and goals.

I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Lessons are structured to build strong musical foundations while keeping students engaged through age-appropriate activities, games, and repertoire.

I focus on developing proper technique, music reading skills, rhythm, and musical expression while helping students build confidence and a lifelong appreciation for music. My background in elementary and special education allows me to adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner and support students at their own pace.

Above all, I want students to enjoy making music and feel proud of their accomplishments.
