Chloë Sobek
About
Dr. Chloë Sobek is a composer-performer, musician and educator based between Naarm/Melbourne and Berlin, with over 20 years of teaching experience across private, school and university settings. She holds a PhD in Music from Monash University and has a broad musical background spanning classical training, improvisation, composition, contemporary music and creative performance practice.
Chloë began studying piano and double bass from a young age as a full scholarship student at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, before completing a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts and further study at the Australian National Academy of Music. Her musical training has given her a strong foundation in technique, reading, rhythm, listening, interpretation and general musicianship.
Teaching Style
Chloë offers warm, supportive and personalized lessons for beginner to intermediate students, school-aged learners and adult beginners. She can help students build confidence at the keyboard, develop healthy technique, improve music reading, understand rhythm and theory, explore repertoire, and enjoy making music in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Chloë’s teaching style is patient, flexible and student-centered. She aims to help each student build a strong musical foundation while developing curiosity, independence and confidence in their own musical voice.
