Davide Piva

I am Davide Piva, an Italian professional operatic baritone currently based in Szczecin, Poland. I offer online singing lessons in English and Italian for adult beginners, amateur singers, and choir members, with a focus on classical vocal technique and Italian repertoire.

I graduated from the F. A. Bonporti Conservatory in Trento with top marks, honours, and a special mention. From 2020 to 2022, I attended the Opera Academy of Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence. My awards include Third Prize and the Emotion Prize at the CLIP International Singing Competition in Portofino in 2024, and Second Prize at the VOX MUTINAE International Competition in the same year.

I have extensive stage experience in Italian theatres and internationally. Highlights include Dulcamara in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at the Bregenz Festival in 2026, Minosse in Rossini Perduto in New York in 2025, and Dante in Laura Kaminsky’s Lucidity at Theater Regensburg. My Italian engagements include performances at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Coccia in Novara, and Teatro Sociale in Trento. I bring the knowledge gained through this training and professional stage experience into an individual learning path, helping students explore their voices and develop musical expression.

My approach combines clear explanations, practical vocal exercises, and work on repertoire suited to your voice, experience, and interests. Beginners are welcome, and no previous musical training is required.

During our first lesson, we will discuss your goals and musical interests, then explore your voice through some introductory exercises. We will use this starting point to build an individual learning path.

Lessons include vocal warm-ups, technical exercises, and work on a song or aria. We will focus on breathing, ease of vocal production, intonation, phrasing, and musical expression. I will also provide practical suggestions for practising between lessons.

My main area of expertise is classical singing. As a native Italian speaker, I can also help singers with Italian diction, understanding the text, and connecting words with musical interpretation.

I aim to create a patient, supportive environment where you can ask questions, experiment, and develop confidence at your own pace. Lessons are available in English or Italian.
