About
Hello, I'm a seasoned musician with 20+ years of experience in guitar playing, composing, and producing. I hold a Masters Degree in Jazz guitar from Conservatorio Giuseppe Martucci (Salerno, IT) and a Bachelors degree from Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi (Turin, IT).
I've always seen music as a powerful form of self-expression, a means to connect with others, and a way to explore and expand one's abilities. My approach to teaching music reflects this perspective. Over the past decade, I've been sharing my knowledge in both electric and acoustic guitar with students of all levels. My primary goal has been to equip my students with the skills they need to pursue their musical goals independently, without relying on a teacher.
The guitar is a versatile instrument that can be used in many ways. As a teacher, I see my role as helping each student identify the specific skills they need to reach their goals. Whether you want to play campfire songs, improve your improvisation, or become a composer, my focus is on practical, music-making skills.
Everyone's musical journey is unique, and I understand that. If you're interested in learning in a way that's focused on making real music, whether you're a beginner or more advanced, feel free to get in touch. Let's explore the world of music together!
Teaching Style
I adopt a flexible teaching approach that is tailored to the individual student's goals and preferences.
The guitar is a versatile instrument, capable of producing both simple harmonies and complex chord melodies and solos. My teaching philosophy revolves around adapting to each student's aspirations and requirements, respecting their musical preferences. I provide a personalized, step-by-step method aligned with their goals. Simultaneously, I emphasize building a solid foundation and a profound comprehension of the craft. I encourage students to express their creativity and unique musical identity through arrangements, improvisation, and composition.
Curriculum
I don't adhere to a rigid teaching method. My aim with every student has consistently been to offer a comprehensive and practical grasp of the instrument and music theory, enabling them to cultivate a satisfying and profound connection with the guitar and music as a whole.
I've drawn inspiration from various texts in my own musical journey, including:
- "Advancing Guitarist" by Mick Goodrick.
- "The Jazz Theory Book" by Mark Levine.
- "Intervallic Designs for Jazz Guitar" by Joe Diorio.
- "Twentieth Century Harmony" by Vincent Persichetti.
These resources have greatly enriched my understanding of music, and I'm excited to share their insights with you as we explore the world of guitar and music theory together.
