Hello there! I am a lifelong musician with a passion for both music and teaching. In my 20+ years of experience as a music instructor, I have guided many students of all ages along their journey to achieve their musical goals. I am patient, have a good sense of humor, and methodical in my way of teaching.

I started my career studying musical theatre at the Franz Liszt music conservatory before continuing my education at the Guitar Institute in London and at the London College of Music. In addition to my formal education, I have had many years of private tuition with Roger Kain (voice), Jack Abrahams (voice) and Shaun Baxter (guitar).

I have been teaching lessons full time for a living since 1987. Over that time span, I have learned so so much in my lessons. My basic vibe is, I am learning new things constantly, for example, I learned Paul Gilbert's Fuzz Universe and taught it to one of my students. No easy task for any player! I spent 12 years as a serious Spanish Classical player.

My name is Tristan Norton and I have been a guitarist, bassist, gigging, composing, and teaching musician in Northern California for 13 years. I am a graduate of Berkeley’s prestigious California Jazz Conservatory with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz Studies.
