Delicate Steve, aka Steve Marion, is sharing his craft with guitarists and songwriters in one-on-one lessons via Lessonface.
To kick it off, he was so generous as to sit down with us to put some of his signature sliding techniques on video, which we shared with GuitarWorld.com.
Lessonface has been live to the public for two awesome years. In that time, our amazing teachers have taught thousands of online lessons to students from 24 countries. Our students are mostly from the US (76%). The next largest home of students is Canada (8%). Students have been finding out about us all over the globe, from Japan and Russia, to Argentina and Brazil. Without leaving the house, you can meet and learn from an excellent instructor who specializes in your level/instrument/style. We're doing it every day.
Teachers can now add new sections to their booking pages for lesson materials and "more"! These will create new tabs behind the "teaching style" part of the teacher page, so that students can get an even better perspective on what they can expect from lessons with you.
The lesson materials page allows you to specify what supporting text you'll be using in the classes, or to convey some beginning worksheets that you use. The "more" page allows you to show additional photos and videos of your studio or playing.
As of Sunday, Feb., 8, a new version of Lessonface is operational, and better than ever. In the unlikely event you do happen to see any bugs, we'd really appreciate you letting us know, via the chat box at the bottom right hand side of the page, or by emailing or calling us. Hope you enjoy the improvements! We'll be putting out more information about the new features over the next two weeks. Lessons and bookings will be continuing as usual in the meantime.
Thanks for all your support as we improve our services!
Students of Duane Denison know he's a dynamo of an educator, as he is a guitarist - creating really interactive classes and lessons that keep students in on the fun and moving forward.
You can learn Duane's approach to songwriting in this free series, which Lessonface produced for AltPress.com.
Book your first lesson or class on Lessonface by midnight EST Wednesday January 28 and take $5 off with the code SNOWDAY.
Lessonface headquarters are in Brooklyn, NY, where we are getting a lot of snow currently. My sweet hound-dog Lucy (who in truth loves to go outside in the snow, though not too frequently and not for too long) was a real champ when it came to modeling for this photo. Full disclosure: Lu never travels for music lessons, even in fine weather. #Stagedphotoofdogwithukulelehabit
I can't remember what my new year's resolution was for 2014. So I made a little tool to help remember the one for 2015. Really simple, but just might work: Make your new years resolution stick this time.
Sony recording artist James Brandon Lewis recently returned to the US after a tour across Europe, and was able to find a few minutes to answer some of our questions. We are really thrilled to have Lewis offering lessons on Lessonface on sax.
Lessonface: How were you first introduced to your instrument? How did you learn to play your instrument?
