My academic background includes studies at Universidad El Bosque and a Master’s degree in Composition from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. Throughout my career, I have worked in various areas of the musical field.

I have been a professional musician for 20 years in Ireland, the UK and Berlin and have toured the world with many renowned artists such as the Commitments, Imelda May, Louis Stewart and the Brandenburg Symphony orchestra.

Hi, my name is Aviv Porath. I'm originally from New York City, but have spent time in Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Tel Aviv, and Taipei. I have a music degree from Bard College, where I studied jazz composition, theory, and arrangement. I have a funk-fusion band based in NYC (where I am the singer/guitarist/composer), but we've traveled around the US and Canada on tour twice.

From as early as I can remember, I was aware of the magic and power of sound. Harmony, melody, and rhythm were constant companions growing up — whether I was syncing footsteps to imaginary beats on the sidewalk or singing harmonies to ’70s radio hits from the back seat of my parents’ AMC Gremlin, music was always there. I come from a long line of musicians.
