Award winning tabla player, composer and teacher Ritesh Das was born in Kolkata, India to parents Nrityacharya Prohlad Das and Smt. Nilima Das. He is the brother of the late kathak dancer, Pandit Chitresh Das. His parents had a music and dance academy, Nritya Bharati, the first of its kind in Kolkata after the Independence of India.

Prato Das is a gifted tabla player and percussionist who has carved a unique space for himself in the world of Indian classical, fusion, and contemporary music. His exceptional talent and dedication have led him to collaborate with some of the most respected names in the field.

Born in a Maharashtrian family, I entered the learning tabla at the age of 10. Being a disciple of many Tabla gurus I gained a profound knowledge of Ajrada Gharana. In the beginning, I was not developing an interest in tabla until I started to participate in district competitions. There a spark of success embraced me from which I started to take tabla seriously.

I studied classic percussion at the La Plata city Conservatory with the master Ernesto Ringer (Colon theater percussionist). I studied drums with the master Horacio Gianello and Hindu percussion (tabla) with the master Sanjay Badhoriya and Armony with the master Horacio Moscovici.
