In this course I will present key concepts from my book, Creative Rhythm, focusing on technique, musicality, and creative development. The book is designed for drummers of all levels, from beginners to advanced players. Structured with a precise, logical, and progressive approach, Creative Rhythm gradually demonstrates how a rhythmic phrase can be enriched, covering essential topics such as fills, grooves, coordination, and linear drumming—all with a strong emphasis on musicality.
Each session will be purpose-driven, with clear and specific learning goals to ensure that participants make tangible progress. The content will be tailored to benefit drummers of all levels, providing valuable insights and practical exercises to enhance their playing.
The capacity for this class is 20 students.
Class Goals
1. Develop solid foundations – strengthen both beginner and advanced-level drumming skills through a progressive and logical approach.
2. Enrich rhythmic phrases – learn how to transform a simple rhythm step by step into a complex, musical groove.
3. Master essential drumming topics – gain control over fills, grooves, coordination, and linear drumming.
4. Increase musicality – improve phrasing and expression so that every exercise serves the music, not just technique.
5. Expand technical vocabulary – add accents, ghost notes, double strokes, and orchestrations around the kit to basic rhythms.
