Clara Parkes is a New York Times-bestselling author, speaker, and wool advocate who has dedicated her life to exploring the stories behind, and qualities of, the fibers we wear on our bodies—and taking readers along for the journey.

Nam Joti Kaur Khalsa, who learned this traditional American broom making technique from her teacher, Karen Hobbs. Karen Hobbs was a long time student of John Campbell Folk School who instilled her love of basket weaving and broom making in dozens of students across the country.

Jenn Lee from Cary, NC, has a professional background in textile technology and industrial knitting. Her technical background gives her a unique perspective on hand knitting she loves to share with others. Jenn enjoys knitting to create high-quality clothing with special touches not found in stores, focusing on unique details and whimsical touches.

Gayle Roehm is a former management consultant who now devotes herself to knitting and other fiber arts. She teaches nationally for knitting events, guilds and yarn shops. Her designs have been featured in Knitter’s, Interweave Knits, A Gathering of Lace, and other publications. She has also sold work at a fiber arts gallery.

Jimmy Parker, Animal Nutritionist, does rations formulation for the farmers co-op line and several independent feed companies for all species. He also does farm consulting 3 days a week in a territory that covers all of Alabama, half of Tennessee, West Georgia, East Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle.

Harriet Boon was introduced to sheep and fiber in the early 1970’s, and earned a Master Spinner certificate from Georgian College in 1976. Since that time Harriet has instructed spinning, dyeing, and judging classes in Canada and in the USA. Her fiber addiction lead to establishing a small flock of English Leicester sheep in addition to a commercial flock.

TahNibaa Naataanii is a traditional Diné woman, representing the Many Hogan Clan and Coyote Pass Clan. She hails from Table Mesa and Toadlena, New Mexico. TahNibaa was introduced to Navajo weaving by her mother, Sarah H. Natani at 7 years old. She learned to weave stripes first, then advanced to complex patterns.

Peggy Doney has been fascinated with color since her first box of crayons. For many years, she has been discovering color recipes using triad, value, and gradient studies. If there is anything that Peggy enjoys as much as creating with fiber and color, it’s sharing that passion with others.

Liz Spear brings nearly five decades of experience to this series. As a master weaver, wet-felter, and designer, she crafts over 80 unique garments annually for craft fairs, galleries, and conferences.

Beth Truesdale has been a fiber arts enthusiast for over 50 years! An active spinner and weaver since the mid 1980’s, Beth has been teaching others for nearly as long as she has been involved in fiber arts. With many successful new weavers to her credit, she enjoys sharing these skills with others as much as doing them herself.
