I have been working as a knitting and crochet teaching artist since 2009. I am a Craft Yarn Council Level 1 and 2 Certified Knitting and Crochet instructor, and I have experience working with beginner through advanced level knitting and crochet students. I have worked with students as young as 11 years old online and in an after-school setting.

I began studying bobbin lace in 2010 after encountering it at a historical reenactment, and around the same time I started creating handmade buttons while producing period clothing for family and friends.

I spent some time teaching in China (I can speak a tiny bit of Chinese), and now I am back in the USA to teach online! I have taught ages 4 to 80 at almost every level. For the last eight years, she has owned SPARKLE Studio, a working and teaching fiber arts studio and local yarn shop located at the historic Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment in Huntsville, AL. She is an expert crocheter who has been crocheting since the age of 9.

Laura is a contemporary Renaissance woman living and working on her family’s century-old homestead farm outside Hayward, WI. From fiber arts to creative writing, music to storytelling, she never tires of the magic of transforming idea into form and overlapping narrative and visual.
