Great Fiber Arts Classes with Expert Teachers Online

I love creating and teaching mosaics of all kinds - traditional glass to more contemporary materials, 2D and 3D pieces and Functional Art. One of my favorite things is helping folks get in touch with their creative streak through mosaics. I teach in Asheville, NC, and at the John C Campbell Folk School and welcome private parties to choose their own workshop.

Meagan Condon is a librarian and fiber artist with more than 10 years of teaching experience. Her areas of focus are microscopy of fiber, breed studies, plant fibers, natural dyes, digital community, and the science behind textiles. She has been published in PLY Magazine, Spin-Off Magazine, and The Wheel.

Today, Folkwear is based in Asheville, NC, under the leadership of Molly Hamilton. Molly learned to sew at a very young age, taught by her grandmother, a talented seamstress.

Clara Parkes is a New York Times-bestselling author, speaker, and wool advocate who has dedicated her life to exploring the stories behind, and qualities of, the fibers we wear on our bodies—and taking readers along for the journey.

Kelsey Wiskirchen is WARP’s Executive Director, a weaver, embroiderer, indigo dyer, and teacher. She has volunteered with weaving cooperatives in Bolivia and South Africa, and has worked in a number of community outreach programs focused on textiles with art educators, underserved youth, and the refugee community. She holds an MFA in Fiber Art from Arizona State University,

Harriet Boon was introduced to sheep and fiber in the early 1970’s, and earned a Master Spinner certificate from Georgian College in 1976. Since that time Harriet has instructed spinning, dyeing, and judging classes in Canada and in the USA. Her fiber addiction lead to establishing a small flock of English Leicester sheep in addition to a commercial flock.

Cecilia Ho of Greenville, SC, was born into a family of designers in Hong Kong. Since 2013, Cecilia relocated to South Carolina from Canada, and has taught thousands of students through one-one-one private & group felting workshops.

Lauren “Ren” Tysinger (they/them) come from a long line of textile artists, tracing back to their great grandmother escaping Eastern Europe during the height of WWII who made a living for herself and her family with the craft she brought over to the States: lacemaking.

Dana Watson used to have a variety of handcraft hobbies, but they all fell to the wayside when she discovered temari in 2005. She is a member of the Japan Temari Association, and in 2016 traveled to Japan to learn more about regional temari styles. She has been teaching at the John C.

Diana has been involved in fiber arts for most of her life. She grew up in a family of knitters, crocheters, quilters, needle workers and sewers; and learned these crafts as a child. As an adult, she has expanded her knowledge and experience where she found her true love to be doing and teaching about textile arts through history.
