I am a professional guitarist and qualified music teacher with extensive experience as a soloist, accompanist, and band member across various genres including Rock, Soul, Funk, Folk, Latin, Reggae, Gypsy Jazz, Classical, and more. I play Lead Guitar for the band El Misti and we're about to release our 4th album in 2025.

I am not currently accepting new students at this time. If you wish to schedule a lesson with me, please communicate this with me and we can make sure to find a time that fits out schedules. Joey Chang has played cello and piano for 30 years and played guitar, studied beatboxing, and songwriting for 20 years. I have been playing guitar for 15 years, and I have been playing professionally for about half of that time. Fronting bands like Ramshackle and Dan & Drum, I have toured nationally, playing legendary venues like The Troubadour and The Roxy. As Dan & Drum, I have 100k monthly listeners on Spotify, and we’d be on tour RIGHT NOW if it wasn’t for covid :/!

I first wanted to play the cello when I was 7 years old, after listening to Saint-Saëns' 'The Swan' being performed at a local concert. Shortly after, I began to have cello lessons, and absolutely loved it! I have been lucky to study with fantastic teachers during my education, most recently with David Cohen (principal cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra).

I have taught individual private lessons for five years to students of all ages and skill levels. In addition to my own studio of private students, I am currently helping launch Kansas State University's String Academy- a program for young violinists to attend weekly group classes, rent instruments free of charge, and learn foundational technique and repertoire.
