“Mr. Steve” has been the Director and Teacher at the music education program, Strings Attached project since 2009. He moved to St. Louis from Los Angeles, CA where he also taught music with a variety of non-profits and afterschool programs, including the Sir Charles Blues Lab with Ray Charles. He has been playing guitar since the age of 6 and has been teaching for 25 years.

Joshua Clemenger began his musical journey in community theatre and choir, where he quickly fell in love with music. Following his training at the Theatre Aquarius program, he performed much of the great musical repertoire playing Curly in Oklahoma, Sgt Cable in South Pacific, John in Miss Saigon, Anatoly in Chess, and President Wintergreen in Of Thee I Sing.

From as early as I can remember, I was aware of the magic and power of sound. Harmony, melody, and rhythm were constant companions growing up — whether I was syncing footsteps to imaginary beats on the sidewalk or singing harmonies to ’70s radio hits from the back seat of my parents’ AMC Gremlin, music was always there.
