With my origins in Kolkata, India, I started my first music lessons at the age of seven. After 10 years of training into Hindustani classical music, bhajans, ghazals and folks I obtained my Baccalaureate degree in light classical vocal music from Bharatiya Sangeet Vidya Bihar and was awarded a silver medal at the state level.

Teaching since 2003, performing since 1998. Have my BFA and MFA from the California Institute of the Arts with a focus in World Music and North Indian Music respectively.
