I love encouraging creativity and appreciation for art. Teaching is rewarding, especially seeing the growth of my students' skills & imaginations, and after giving private and small group art lessons for over 18 years, I enjoy it even more than when I first began!

Charles F. Gattis is a retired United Methodist pastor, with degrees from Birmingham-Southern College and Emory University. Photography has been an interest for him since the age of thirteen. He uses both DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, and has become fascinated with the photo opportunities of the iPhone.

Joan Sheridan is a weaver, knitter, spinner, fiber explorer, and owner of Heritage Spinning and Weaving in Lake Orion, Michigan since 2000. She confesses that every room in her house holds fiber tools and projects, and “bored” is absolutely not in her vocabulary. Joan has taught and presented at conferences, festivals, for guilds and shops, and on tour in Norway.

I found weaving in 1991 and was obsessed in that first encounter. It took a while to find my way through commercial weaving, product weaving, finally coming back to where it all started – art weaving. In my previous professional life I was a musician and oboe teacher so it was natural to gravitate to teaching weaving – that special moment when someone lights up with understanding…

Joe Synan has been a painting student at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston for 15 years. In addition, he has attended 17 classes in the painting studio at the Campbell School. Joe has been a Campbell School instructor since 2019, and has taught 8 painting classes in the online program with Lessonface.

Emolyn learned to knit at a young age without patterns which led her to also spin and dye yarn and wool. She has developed a line of handknits and yarns, and designs knitwear inspired by the yarn. She manages her business, The Roving Knitter, teaches people of all ages to knit and shows her work at craft shows and exhibits.
