With more than 14 years of dedicated practice as a dietitian at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State Nigeria; over 4 years of teaching experience (one year in Unique Secondary School Irrua and presently Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria) and my current pursuit as a Ph.D.

Judith MacKenzie is the ultimate textile artist and teacher. She has an in-depth understanding of every aspect of spinning, weaving, knitting, and dyeing. Her teaching career spans the globe from such fascinating places as above the Arctic Circle all the way to Turkey. Judith is the author of Teach Yourself Visually: Handspinning and The International Spinner.

Susannah is the sole operator and owner of BellaLuna Sheep & Wool Co. in Washington, GA. She has been a shepherd for 20 years. The breeds range from fine fiber to milk producers. She has been spinning and weaving for even longer and loves imparting what she has learned to others.

Laura Nelkin lives in upstate New York, where the sunny season is short, leaving plenty of time to be indoors knitting. Though she has a degree in apparel design from Cornell University, she took to knitting years ago and hasn’t looked back.

After rejecting a short career as a geologist, Ann Budd fully embraced her passion for knitting. She worked as an editor for Interweave Press for more than 20 years and is now a freelance editor, teacher, and designer. Ann has authored more than a dozen knitting books, including the popular The Knitter’s Handy Book series, Getting Started Knitting Socks, Sock Knitting Master…

I fell in love with weaving about ten years ago, when I retired from my career in graphic design. The two disciplines overlap perfectly through my love for color, pattern, and the design process. I became an artisan at the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center and began teaching as well as weaving my own creations. My classes focus on aiding weavers in understanding weave structures.

Maggie Casey has been addicted to spinning since the last century and while some people are proud of their wine cellars, she much prefers her fleece basement. She was co-owner of Shuttles Spindles & Skeins until it closed in 2020. Besides teaching spinning at Shuttles, she also teaches at the Estes Park Wool Market, Harrisville Designs, John C.

Rusty Boyd has been a crocheter since the age of 9. At age 34, he took his first knitting class and was “hooked.” Since that time he has taught himself to knit lace, cables, stranded, mosaic and more. After attending his first Men’s Knitting Retreat, Rusty had his first pattern published by Skacel for their Simplicity Men’s Booklet.
