Making art all my life, I began working as a professional artist in my home town, the Wildwoods, NJ, painting murals for local businesses and set backgrounds for high school plays, as well as teaching private and group art lessons.

TJ King—a.k.a., the Peahen—is a spinner, writer and teacher with nearly 20 years’ experience in helping others find joy in fiber arts. While her passion is supported spinning, she also weaves, knits, felts and crochets. She’s looking forward to sharing her knowledge at the Cedar Springs Fiber Arts Center in the coming years.

Rebecca Miller is a writer, editor, shepherdess and dog wrangler. She runs Blue Heron Farms, a commercial sheep flock of about 250 ewes, in the Appalachian foothills of eastern Ohio. Livestock guardian dogs have been a part of the family farm for more than 15 years, but she began working with them specifically in 2016. She now has a growing pack, mostly of Turkish origin.

Harriet Boon was introduced to sheep and fiber in the early 1970’s, and earned a Master Spinner certificate from Georgian College in 1976. Since that time Harriet has instructed spinning, dyeing, and judging classes in Canada and in the USA. Her fiber addiction lead to establishing a small flock of English Leicester sheep in addition to a commercial flock.

Colleen began teaching soap making in 1999 after discovering a real need for cruelty free body products and the knowledge to create them. Rooted in her mastery of formulation, chemistry, Herbalism, and cosmetic regulations, her instruction blends technical precision with an approachable, down to earth style.

Justin Near​ is a Nashville fiber artist and homeschooler who has a passion for sustainability and supporting local and regional communities and economies. Growing up, Justin was surrounded by crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and sewing, and dabbled in many of those as well as closely related fiber arts.

Henry has been building fiber art equipment for over 50 years and enjoys sharing his knowledge of both equipment and fiber. The family business he started in 1971 has introduced many innovations to the fiber arts community and their equipment is known for being not only thoughtfully engineered but visually pleasing and durable as well.

I love to teach others the joy of working with their hands. I specialize in Macrame and Macra-weaving. I make learning the basics fun and as simple as possible. If you can tie your shoes, then you can macrame. Then I encourage each student to explore as he/she creates finished projects suitable for showing off to friends and family.

An adept disciple of Pt Tejendra Narayan Majumdar for the past six years, I have immersed myself in the rich tradition of Indian classical music, specifically focusing on the sarod. My musical journey began a decade ago with vocal training, and over the years, I have expanded my expertise by undergoing rigorous tabla training under the guidance of maestro Soumen Nandi.
