HARMONY: How to Make It Do What's Best for YOUR Music
This course teaches you how to use the harmony you already know, via whatever process you currently use. It’s open to all levels, because it's not a harmony / theory course, per se: You won't learn key signatures, scales, modes, chords or how to read music here.
It assumes you know your basic Major and minor 3-part chords, and knowing more than that is better of course. But even if you're relatively untrained, the audio examples, simple language and simplified graphics make it easy for beginners and non-readers to grasp 80 or 90 percent of it.
...And if you do have a lot of formal training, it formats the knowledge you have into a powerfully organized box of "tools", and it teaches you to identify the needs for specific tools.
Harmony can be lush and sophisticated, or as simple as a nursery rhyme. Sometimes the most simple and bare-bones treatment is the most powerful, and other times you need to pull out all the stops and release the Cracken.
But how does one know when to do what?
This course addresses that. There's a LOT in it, and it's proven to do very powerful things for creatives of all levels, genres and cultures; for all instruments and noises.
As you'll see from the free preview vid and course content on the right, there's a LOT to it and it delivers a lot of very useful, very valuable tools. It gives you the same proven, tried-and-true musical devices used by all legendary hitmakers—from Beethoven to George Martin to Quincy to Metallica to Dr. Dre.
ALSO in this course are two bonus areas, featuring two extremely powerful tools:
CONTEXT and "The Who, Why and What Filter", and
CAPSTONE and "The Envelope".
NOTE:
This course is part of The Arranger's Toolbox, which is a very powerful course for musical creatives of all levels and genres. It's proven to transform the musical process for the highly trained and relatively untrained alike, by delivering nuts-and-bolts understanding of how to create music on a par with the world standard.
